So seven ducks just casually checked into The Metropole Hotel…

We can’t even.
The staff at the Metropole Hotel are well accustomed to welcoming all types of guests, but they weren’t expecting a family of the feathered variety this weekend.
The breakfast team at Cork’s oldest hotel were a little surprised when a mother duck and her six curious ducklings waddled into the dining room on Sunday morning.
The ducks left the safety of the nearby River Lee for an excursion across St Patrick’s Quay.
Sharing a photo of the adorable gang on Twitter, the hotel posted: ‘This morning at the quack of dawn, we had an interesting family who walked in for breakfast! It was quackers!’

‘After a little potter through the breakfast area, our team safely guided them back to the water and made sure they were all okay.’
‘It was a quacking surprise for us to have such lovely visitors.’
