Michael Flatley just dramatically slashed the price of his Cork mansion

He’s the Lord of the Dance, but Michael Flatley is having trouble offloading the title of Lord of the Manor.
The Riverdance star has re-listed his opulent Castle Hyde mansion, which originally hit the market at €20m in 2015.
The vast property, which overlooks the River Blackwater near Fermoy, could now be yours for a bargain €12.5m, freshly listed with David Ashmore of Ireland Sotheby’s International Realty.
The performer and his wife, Niamh, who are now based in London, bought the mansion for around €3m in 1999 after spotting it from their helicopter.
Rumour has it the star and his wife spent an eye-watering €30m on renovations before they moved in.
Built in 1801, the Palladian-style home boasts 150 acres of manicured lawns and grounds, seven lofty reception rooms, 12 lavish bedroom suites, a safari-themed billiards room and a swimming pool.
The master suite alone is 3,000-square-foot.
Built for entertaining on a grand scale, the movie theatre at Castle Hyde seats 20 people.
After a film, you could retire to the dedicated whiskey room, the full luxury in-house pub or one of two wine cellars for a drink before heading out on the driving range.
Michael Jackson was one of many A-list stars to stay over at the property while it was the Flatleys’ family home.
Cliff Richard, Maureen O’Hara and The Chieftains were also overnight visitors and Fred Astaire was a frequent guest at Castle Hyde in the 1920s.
Speaking about the decision to cut the price of the property, Flatley told The Wall Street Journal:
“I don’t mind taking the cut because I spent 20 of the best years of my life in that house.”
