Sing, share and pick up new songs at this pub’s monthly voice-only exchange

Trad music is the lifeblood of Irish culture.
Yet in the midst of a rambunctious session of fiddle playing, horn piping and banjo picking, there often isn’t the space to whisht and listen to a good old-fashioned lyrical tune.
Now Maureen’s pub in Shandon has announced a new monthly informal singing circle to gather those who love to sing and listen to some acapella melodies in the colourful surroundings of their cosy bar.
The first session takes place on November 13th.
“This is a space to sing, share and pick up new songs and is voice only,” the venue announced on Instagram, meaning that singers don’t have to worry about being an expert musician to accompany each song and listeners will get to experience the beautiful human voice in all its raw beauty.
