Well now, instead of just telling everyone how great your mate is after three drinks, you can literally put together a PowerPoint presentation about it.
An upcoming event in Cork is inviting people to publicly pitch their single friends to a room full of eligible singles. Pitch A Friend is landing in Moxy Cork on Thursday, May 21st, giving brave besties the chance to become full-time hype people for the night.

The concept is simple: reserve a pitch slot, throw together a fun 3–5 minute slideshow, and present your friend to the crowd. Think dating app meets work presentation meets your group chat after two margaritas.
Participants are encouraged to highlight what makes their friend a catch, from niche talents and green flags to questionable hobbies and ideal partner criteria — but organisers stress it’s all meant in a positive, lighthearted way rather than a roast.
And honestly? With dating apps exhausting half the population at this stage, there’s probably something reassuring about having your best friend personally vouch for you in front of a live audience.
