Pompeii Pizza are sharing all their secrets in one brilliant class

Here’s a new skill you can put to use immediately.
Italian pizzaiolos Pompeii Pizza are hosting a unique workshop in Cork this autumn, inviting pizza fans, seasoned cooks and complete beginners to learn all their secrets and techniques.
The Milling & Making, Wood-Fired Baking Workshop will take place on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 at the Franciscan Well Brew Pub, where Franciscan monks have been baking bread and brewing beer since the 12th century.
Seventh generation flour miller, Robert Mosse of Kells Wholemeal will explain the history of Irish-grown heritage grain, before a milling demo that will provide participants with the flour to make their own bread.
Later, the group will learn how to stretch and top a pizza base before tucking in to a lunch of oven-fresh bread and wood-fired pies.
After lunch, participants move on to bread making, with students learning how to work with sourdough starter, mix and knead dough, proof and knock back, shape and score a loaf and finally, how to bake your bread in a wood-fired oven.
Every guest takes home a sourdough loaf, a sourdough bread recipe, starter and flour blend and all the skills and knowledge necessary to vastly improve your home baking.
Refreshments and lunch are included in the workshop (tickets are €85 here) and it takes place from 8:30am to 1:30pm. For enquiries or to book your place, email info@pompeiipizza.ie.
