Paradiso at Home just launched (and one meal kit is already sold out)

It’s the food drop Cork vegetarians have been waiting for.
Having closed its iconic Washington Street restaurant in March due to Covid-19 restrictions, world-famous veggie restaurant Paradiso has decided to cater to its customers with a range of meals that are designed to be enjoyed at home.
The first Paradiso Meal Kits are now available on their website and you better move fast if you’re hoping to dig in this weekend; the Aubergine Parcel Meal Kit for two, which includes aubergine parcels of kale and Knockalara sheep’s cheese, miso gravy, walnut crumb, beluga lentils, broad bean, purple potato and rhubarb and custard doughnuts for dessert (€38) has already sold out for Friday collections.
Other options for this week include a Feta & Pistachio Couscous Cake served with smoky greens, lemon chickpeas, coriander yoghurt, zhoug oil and date jam and an Artichoke and Lemon Risotto with nettle broth.
Each kit includes access to an instructional video to help you create the perfect Paradiso experience so if you’re more of a domestic god-help-us than a domestic goddess, there’s nothing to worry about.
“Paradiso at home will be open from Tuesday morning to Wednesday afternoon each week and will operate on a collect system only, with pickups on Thursday and Friday afternoons.” the Paradiso team explain.
“Once you make a purchase for a particular day, you will receive a confirmation email giving you a specific pickup time slot.
In the shop you’ll also find staple signature ingredients of the Paradiso kitchen – crumbs and crunchy stuff, butters and sauces – that we use across our menus to deliver essential flavour elements to a range of dishes and that can do the same for you at home.
A small selection of natural wines are available in the shop too and now is an excellent time to pick up the Denis Cotter cookbook, signed by the author, to improve your lockdown meal prep.
