With 40,000 people per night descending on Páirc Uí Chaoimh to see Ed Sheeran kick off his Irish tour this weekend, one Cork company is offering a novel way of getting to the gig.

Cork Harbour Boat Hire will collect revellers from Cobh or Monkstown and whiz them directly into the city centre on a high speed rib.

The drop off point is the Port of Cork Marina, where shuttle buses will be waiting to take concert goers to the stadium.

The time slots for collection are 3.30pm, 5.30pm and 6.45pm (call 086 89 337 24 to book one of the remaining seats) – with strict traffic restrictions in place until Sunday, this is one way to avoid road rage this May bank holiday weekend.
