It’s a room with a view, that’s for sure.
A Cork couple is offering guests the chance to sleep over in a unique dome tent offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding Irish countryside.
Hosts Conor and Bernadette Hegarty’s Mountain Forge Escape is a purpose-built glamping site where you can book into their sound-proof dome and enjoy the best of the great outdoors without roughing it.
Set in the village of Ardfield, just four minutes from Clonakilty, the campsite boasts stunning views with wet rooms and wheelchair accessibility.
Each cosy dome is fully furnished with a stove, air conditioning, sockets, a comfy bed and a toilet. Ideal for couples, it’s also suitable for small families (the kids will be mesmerised) and a sofa bed can be added if required.
“Equipped with your very own private porch, two deck chairs and a brick pathway that meanders along to a sit-down fire pit area, you’ll find yourself fully immersed with nature,” says Conor.
“Toast marshmallows beneath the starry sky and become cocooned in our warm blankets. Don’t forget your camera!”
You can even watch the sunrise from your cosy bed and spot wildlife as they go about their business after dark.
Staycations within your home county are still allowed under Level 3 restrictions. You can book the dome at Mountain Forge Escape for €200 for a two-night break here.
