In the market for a new kind of release?
If your regular yoga class is no longer scratching that itch, it’s high time you kicked things up a notch.
Down in Kinsale, a weekly outdoor dance meditation is gaining a steady crop of new fans – just kick off your shoes and join Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Helen Bohan on the sand at Garylucas Beach, near the Old Head.
The 90-minute ‘Wild Waves’ movement meditation event, which has proven a sell-out success in recent weeks, takes place on Sunday mornings at 11am.
Studies show that dance meditation not only improves mobility and balance, reduces stress and lowers anxiety, but it can also prove to be one of the best ways to reduce your risk of developing dementia or Alzheimer’s disease as you get older.
Numbers are strictly limited to pre-booking (Helen provides everyone with headphones) so email [email protected] to reserve your spot in the next session.
“It’s proving really popular, even as the weather changes,” Helen told Yay Cork. “If it’s lashing out of the heavens the event will be postponed and you can either get a refund or transfer to the next event.”
Tickets are €15 (follow Helen on Facebook for the link to the next event) and participants are asked to bring a blanket to sit on.
