Don’t pack away your shades just yet.
Met Éireann is forecasting a warm week ahead, kicking off September with temperatures of up to 22C in Cork.
It will remain dry this morning with sunny spells until cloud increases in the afternoon, bringing light rain and drizzle to some areas, although temperatures will stay between 16 to 18 degrees.
Tonight will be cloudy, but forecasters say rainfall totals will be small and it will be milder than recent nights with minimum temperatures of 12 or 13 degrees.
Tuesday will start out cloudy with patchy light rain and drizzle lingering in places until afternoon, but temperatures will increase once again, reaching between 17C and 20C across Munster.
“Becoming mostly dry for a time with a few bright spells for late afternoon and evening before another band of rain reaches the west coast around nightfall. Highs of 17 to 20 degrees in a moderate southerly breeze,”
Right now it’s looking like Wednesday could be the best day of the week for a dip in the sea after work.
Expect a “wet, breezy start with rain clearing eastwards to showers through the afternoon”. say Met Éireann.
“A mild, humid day with low cloud and highs of 18 to 22 degrees, in moderate southwesterly winds, fresh to strong on coasts.”
