Met Éireann says we’re in for a sunny week in Cork (with more good news for August)

Start planning those barbecues.
Met Éireann has confirmed that Cork is in for some decent sunshine to see out the end of July, with more balmy weather on the way in August.
Meteorologists are monitoring high-pressure systems developing from the southwest, with the Azores High extending its influence. This pattern is expected to bring more sunshine, suppress rainfall, and raise temperatures, resulting in more settled and pleasant weather conditions.
In the meantime, today will be mainly dry across Munster with a fair amount of cloud, some sunny intervals and perhaps a few showers. Some rain or drizzle may develop later but highest temperatures will stay between 17 to 21 degrees.
Some positive signs of high pressure and warmer air to move close to or over Ireland to start August. Remember August is still summer when it comes to meteorological seasons.

Monday night will bring a little rain and drizzle, but Tuesday morning will be mainly dry and will gradually brighten up with some sunny intervals developing in the afternoon with highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees.
From Wednesday through Friday, the weather will be mixed, starting with mostly cloudy conditions and a few showers on Wednesday, followed by more persistent rain moving in from the west later in the day. Thursday will see rain clearing in the morning, giving way to sunny spells and scattered showers. By Friday, it will be brighter with more sunshine and only isolated showers, though slightly cooler, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 22 degrees.
What’s the forecast for the August bank holiday?
“At the moment it looks like Saturday will be mainly dry with just well scattered showers and that more persistent rain will move over the country through Saturday night and Sunday.” said a forecaster.
“Temperatures will range from 16 to 20 or 21 degrees.|
