Batten down the hatches.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow – Wind warning for Munster and Leinster, which will go nicely with the Status Yellow Rain warning already in place from 2pm on Friday until 3am on Saturday morning.
Forecasters say that it will become “very windy with southeast winds, veering southwest gusting up to 110km/h, higher on exposed coasts and hills.”
Potential impacts include damage to temporary structures (FYI campers), travel disruption, power outages, and wave overtopping. This will be coupled with heavy rain with thundery downpours on Friday and Friday night, which are likely to cause spot flooding.
