What will they think of next?
While Tesco is busy making their avocados bigger, over at Lidl the thinking is that the best things come in small packages.
The German retailer has just unveiled the Kiwi Berry; a grape-sized, fuzz-less kiwi with all the goodness of the usual fuzzy fruit, but in miniature.
Available this week in all 163 Lidl stores across Ireland or €1.99 per packet, Lidl say the teeny weeny kiwi is the “perfect healthy snack for when you are on the go”.
Ideal for kids back-to-school lunchboxes, the mini kiwis are small but mighty, packed with antioxidants, fibre, vitamin C and vitamin E.
“They are also naturally low in fat, cholesterol and sodium meaning they have all the goodness and taste of a kiwi but in a snack size.” said a supermarket spokesperson.
“They’re small enough to be popped into your mouth like grapes or you can get creative with your kiwi berries by adding them to a cheeseboard for some sweetness or using as a garnish for cocktails.”
