Join a ‘winding, dawdling’ bike parade tour of Cork’s gardens and veg plots

It’s Bike Week.
And cyclists around the city have been getting active and participating in events aimed at raising the profile of cycling as a healthy and fun mode of transport.
This Sunday, St Luke’s Community Garden, Bike Week and Cork Community Bikes are coming together for a wholesome (and zero carbon) Parade through Cork’s Community Gardens where participants will get to visit the abundant green spaces across the Rebel City.
“We’ll be doing a winding, dawdling cycle from the Glen Community Garden to Togher community garden, taking in St Luke’s community garden and some other veg-filled plots along the way. All welcome (bring your own bike!),” said the St Luke’s Garden crew on Instagram.

With promises of tea and cake on the Southside, cyclists are also encouraged to bring their own picnic for some extra nourishment after the rambling route.
The Bike Parade to Cork’s Community Gardens takes place this Sunday, May 21st at 11am, leaving from the Glen Community Garden and finishing up at around 3pm.
