January feeling heavy? This free Positive Mental Health Talk could help

Many of us see the first month of the year as the dullest.
But if January is feeling a little heavy, this might be a really worthwhile way to spend an evening.
St Catherine’s GAA in Ballynoe, East Cork is hosting a free Positive Mental Health Talk on Thursday, January 15th (7pm to 9pm), offering a relaxed and supportive space to focus on looking after your head as well as your body.
Taking place in Ballynoe Community Centre from 7pm to 9pm, the talk will explore the core pillars of positive mental health and offer practical guidance on navigating the ups and downs of life — whether you’re 16 or 60. There’s no pressure, no jargon, and no expectation to share more than you’re comfortable with — just useful insights you can take away and apply in everyday life.
Niall McCarthy will chat about resilience, with information on performance nutrition from Jen O’Callaghan. Later Dr Ant Kiernan will give everyone some pointers on managing stress.

Open to anyone aged 16 and over, the event is supported by Healthy Ireland and Cork County Council, with St Catherine’s GAA helping to bring it to the local community.
It’s a simple, welcoming opportunity to pause, reflect, and pick up a few tools for managing life a little better — and best of all, it’s completely free. The Eircode P51 Y193 will get you there.
