Izz Café has reopened for takeaway on George’s Quay

Many of their staff are Palestinian and Gazan.
After a stressful week fraught with worry for loved ones in the war-torn Middle East, the owners of Cork’s only Palestinian restaurant have announced they are back open for takeaway and delivery.
In a statement on X, the restaurant owners said its staff were “exhausted mentally given the current situation” and had decided to take some time off.
Now they hope to return to filling take-out and delivery orders today, Tuesday, as Izzeddeen and Eman Akarajeh and their team await news of the raging conflict in their homeland.
“Having taken a few days respite and having made the appropriate staffing accommodations we are glad to announce we are back open from tomorrow for takeaway and delivery.” the Izz Café team posted on social media.
