It’s a LOT cooler in Cork this week but Met Éireann says it will warm up again soon

We were getting used to the balmy temperatures.
But this week’s weather has taken a bit of a turn, as the mercury drops to a markedly cooler 14C to 17C to kick off the week.
Met Éireann forecasters say we can expect showers or longer spells of rain today with sunny spells at times too.
“Some of the showers will be heavy with a slight chance of a thunderstorm. Breezy again with moderate to fresh westerly winds. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.”
The showers will gradually become confined to Atlantic coastal counties tonight with clear spells developing elsewhere and lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees after dark.

Tuesday looks set to bring another day of showers with the potential for thunder. However, it will become drier later in the day, although highest temperatures will once again stick at around 15 to 17C degrees in moderate westerly winds.
The outlook for the rest of the week remains very unsettled but “turning warmer late in the week and for the weekend”, according to forecasters.
Warm ‘in the sunnier gaps’
Highest temperatures will hit around 19C on Thursday, with the humidity returning by the weekend, albeit with some more wet weather:
“Current indications suggest that it will be unsettled for Friday and the weekend with occasional showers or longer spells of rain.
“Some heavy or thundery downpours may occur but in the sunnier gaps it will feel warm as it turns more humid with temperatures in the high teens or low 20s. It could be breezy or windy at times too.”
