Is your brown bread the best? This is how it could win you €10k

You can’t beat a slice of homemade brown bread, fresh from the oven.
However, if you’re convinced your family’s recipe makes the tastiest loaf, it could win you some serious dough.
Aldi will once again this year sponsor The National Brown Bread Baking Competition, in association with the National Ploughing Association (NPA) and the Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA) – and now is your chance to enter.
The competition is open to everyone over the age of 18 and the winner of the best brown bread recipe will receive a share of the profits from the sale of their winning loaf once it goes on sale in Aldi – guaranteed to be at least €10,000.
Second place will receive €1,000, €500 for third, €300 for fourth and the other semi-finalists will all get €200 each – not bad for an afternoon’s baking.
The three finalists selected from Aldi bread drops all over Ireland, along with the five finalists selected through ICA heats, will compete at the National Finals in September during the 2018 National Ploughing Championships in Co. Offaly.
Keen bakers can now enter the Aldi heats by dropping their freshly baked bread off at the Aldi Regional Office, Limerick Road, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork on May 22nd, 2018.
Anyone interested in entering is asked to email brownbread@aldi.ie to register.
