Tired of cooking?
If the Covid-19 lockdown has left you exhausted from meal planning, one Cork café has come up with an offer that will secure you a full day off in the kitchen.
People living within 2km of the lovely St Francis Provisions café in Kinsale can drop in and collect a bag of goodies that includes freshly baked bread, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and wine for a very reasonable €55.
It’s the perfect lockdown treat.
The contents are more than enough to feed two people, with granola or scones to choose from for breakfast, St Francis sourdough or bubbly garlic focaccia to dip in tomato and basil soup for lunch and ajo blanco, a chilled Spanish summer soup made with bread, almonds, garlic, olive oil, and a splash of vinegar, or homemade hummus with linseed crackers to snack on while you work from home.
For dinner you can pick the roast chicken with garlic, lemon and sumac or baked feta over chunky roasted veggies, both served with a hefty portion of greens with wild garlic goddess dressing. The St Francis crew are happy to modify any orders for vegetarians and vegans too.
Dessert is included; there’s a brownie or a rhubarb cake that will go down a treat with a cuppa after you finish the wine (red or white, with beer or kombucha available).
You can add in all kinds of extras too so check out their Facebook page for the full menu.
Pick up is available from the café’s half door on Friday and Saturday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. A delivery service is also available to those who need it. Call 083 063 6879 to book.
