Here’s the story with the giant feathery egg that’s appeared in the Marina Market

You can’t miss it.
Visitors to the Marina Market in Ballintemple this weekend will encounter a humongous purple egg floating near the library area this weekend.
The purple feathered creation, entitled ‘Egg- Collection of Emotion’, is the work of Sample Studios’ ‘Studios of Sanctuary’ Resident Artist Seiko Hayase.
The installation represents a collection of released emotions, asking: “With the evolution of technology and ‘instant’ connections, every second in the world billions of emotions arise that are born and disappear – where did they go? And are they waiting for us?”
Our Studios of Sanctuary Resident Artist Seiko Hayase’s ‘Egg- Collection of Emotion’ is now installed in Marina Market Cork as part of @CorkMidsummer Festival, June 14-25. The Studios of Sanctuary is funded by Cork Arts Fund at @CommunityFound for Ireland pic.twitter.com/FxQNtomdnh

Seiko, a Japanese artist who has been based in Mallow since 2018, works with painting, sculpture, installation, and collaborative projects researching how to share emotions with society.
The egg will be displayed at the venue from now until June 25th as part of Cork Midsummer Festival.
On Saturday, Hayase’s Creepy Parade will see five performers and live Irish pipe musicians wearing ‘brain hats’ explore how emotions stuck in the body might look if one day they chose to go out on the street and dance with others.
You can catch it all live and for free in Fitzgerald’s Park on Saturday, June 17th at 1pm, on Emmet Place at 5pm and in the Marina Market at 7.30pm.
