Cork neighbourhoods are hosting 76 official Street Feasts in gardens, lanes and car parks

They’re an excellent way to bring communities together.
And this year’s Street Feast will see 76 little DIY get-togethers happening in neighbourhoods all over Cork on June, 25th.
As part of the national day, a new pilot initiative in Cork aims to break down the disconnect between local communities and migrant groups.
In the run-up to June 25th, Street Feast Together will see three communities across Cork City (St Luke’s, Togher and Greenmount) given the right tools and training to host inclusive, vibrant Street Feasts in an effort to help build more multicultural and welcoming communities.
“We have had feasts organised in front gardens, on streets and greens, in car parks, laneways, local parks and community centres and can’t wait to see what you come up with! Knock on one door – that’s all it takes to get started.” said Street Feast founder, Sam Bishop.
“By hosting a street party, you can create a lasting legacy of community spirit and strengthen your local area. This is a great opportunity for people to get together with their neighbours and celebrate all that is great about their community.”
Sam advises people to start small and to keep it simple: “Street Feast hosts are supported in planning their feast, and we have great ideas for overcoming any challenges that might come up.” he added.
There’s still time to register and get your free party pack at StreetFeast.ie before Monday, June 19th.
