Festive cheer returns as two Cork towns announce Christmas lights parties

It’s only 47 days until Christmas.
And if you’re ready to get out and soak up the festive atmosphere ahead of Santa’s arrival, take a spin to Cobh or Midleton later this month.
The seaside town has announced its Christmas lights will be officially set to twinkling on Sunday, November 21st, 2021.
The big switch-on, organised by Cobh & Harbour Chamber, will go ahead at 5pm on the day.
“‘Tis the season… come along and join with us for the official turning on of the Christmas Lights in Cobh!” the Chamber announced on Facebook.
“Join in the festive atmosphere as we #lightcobh again for 2021. We will have a very special little guest to help us flip the switch – the winner of the School Art Competition.”
If you fancy getting into the seasonal spirit even earlier this year, the Midleton Christmas Lights will be switched on on Friday, November 19th.
The festivities will kick off at 2pm at the Fair Green with a mini-fair followed by the official turning on of the light at 6pm and the launch of this year’s Christmas display across the town.
