WATCH: Cork’s night sky illuminated with fireworks ahead of Christmas

What a night.
As the Magic Nights By The Lee: A Winter Solstice series of open-air gigs drew to a close last night, Cork’s night sky was lit up by a spectacular firework show that could be seen from all over the city.
Legendary Cork DJs Fish Go Deep had composed an original piece of music to accompany the pyrotechnic display. The 10-minute piece of music, titled ‘As One,’ sampled an extract from Passion Play, a novel by Cork writer Conal Creedon, and was performed as the dazzling lights filled the night sky.
If, for whatever reason, you might have missed last night’s firework show, many were on hand to capture the magic and upload it to social media. Honestly, we’re not sure that Cork’s sky has ever looked so good.
The Good Room, who organised the gigs in partnership with Cork city council, signed off by saying: “Merry Christmas and thanks to everyone who joined us this week in Fitzgeralds Park. Enjoy the show and see you next year.”
Check out pics and videos of the show below.
