Plans are changing by the minute.
But if the new restrictions on inter-county travel mean you won’t be going home or seeing family and friends this December 25th, there’s still time to make alternative arrangements for Christmas dinner.
While there’s nothing like your Mam’s cooking, a number of Cork restaurants are going their level best to ensure your sit down to a slap-up meal on Christmas Day, even if you can barely boil an egg.
At Electric on the South Mall, you can swing by and collect a three-course Christmas Eve lunch with a starter, main course, dessert and a cocktail for €39.
Delighted to offer a 3 course Christmas Eve lunch for collection on the day, ready to serve. Please email us on [email protected] to book or enquire. Thank you for the on going support, It really means everything to us 🙏🙌🙏🙌 pic.twitter.com/q585FqRaMH

Dishes include Crispy Duck Confit, Oven Baked Monkfish and Slow Braised Feather Blade Steak, with a full vegan menu and kids menu available too. The last orders for Electric will be taken on Wednesday, December 23rd (email [email protected] to book your collection slot).
If it’s more traditional fare you’re craving, the award-winning chefs at the Rochestown Park Hotel are dishing up Christmas In A Box; a restaurant-quality, heat-at-home Christmas feast that will be on the table (and piping hot) in 60 minutes – no peeling or chopping required.
All you need to do is select one Starter, one Main Course and one Dessert (from €32.50 per person, see the menu here), then choose your collection date and time. Collections will be available on Wednesday, December 23rda and Thursday, December 24th, 2020.
UPDATE: The Rochestown Park’s Christmas in a Box is now sold out but a takeaway carvery will be available on December 26th, with turkey and ham on the menu.
