Curious about sean-nós dancing? Here’s a free family workshop to try

Hup!
Young people across Cork are being encouraged to lace up their runners and try something a little different this weekend — a free sean-nós dancing workshop in Hollyhill.
As part of the fourth annual Féile Fearann Rí, award-winning dancer Shane Creed will lead a lively introduction to the vibrant and rhythmic tradition of sean-nós dancing on Saturday, March 28th from 12pm to 1pm at Hollyhill Library.
The workshop is completely free and open to beginners, making it the perfect chance for teens and young adults to dip a toe into one of Ireland’s most expressive dance styles — no wigs, no stiff costumes, and definitely no pressure. Known for its playful footwork and individual flair, sean-nós is all about finding your own rhythm and enjoying the music.
Organisers say the session will be relaxed and welcoming, with musicians, dancers and the simply curious all invited to come along and give it a go.
