Having opened in May, Takashi Miyazaki’s ichigo ichie has been booked solid at €95 a head for the 12-course tasting menu since.

Now there’s a chance to try Cork’s trendiest Japanese eatery for less, provided you’re willing to venture out of the house midweek.

On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings this autumn, foodies can book a seven-course tasting menu at ichigo ichie for €65.

That’s seven meticulously created, artfully served plates, served up by the country’s leading sushi chef – a pretty epic antidote to the midweek slump.

Located on Sheares Street, the upmarket restaurant was recently voted one of Ireland’s top food experiences.

The name ichigo ichie means ‘once in a lifetime’, but for anyone who has already experienced the magic of Takashi Miyazaki’s menu, this is the perfect excuse to head back for a second helping.
