Ready to relive your glory days?
Cork’s newest bar opens this Friday, November 29th, 2019… and they’re inviting revellers to party like it’s 1999.
Located on the ground floor of the Voodoo Rooms complex on Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork City, Popscene will open every Friday and Saturday night (8pm ‘til late) with the resident DJ entirely dedicated to celebrating the best of the ‘80s and ‘90s.
It’s basically everything we want in a night out.
Inside Cork’s only Eighties and Nineties-themed party spot, giant Rubik’s Cubes double up as tables, while fun photobooths ensure visitors go home with a cute reminder of their step back in time
Karaoke and cocktails
Private karaoke booths invite you to belt out your favourite power ballad, while the black and white dance floor is the perfect spot to bust out some vintage dance moves.
“Popscene evolved from the popular monthly night Now That’s What I Call Voodoo.” said Stephen Forde Jnr, Popscene’s Director, who opened the new bar with business partner Wesley O’Regan.
“We could see how popular that event was and decided to take a chance on creating a more permanent celebration of two iconic decades.”
Upscale drinks
“While this is very much a themed bar, we’ve side-stepped the cheese-factor with tasteful décor, and an upscale drinks list and party food menu.”
“Whether your jam is Temptation from Heaven 17 or Robbie Williams’ Angels, you’ll feel right at home here at Popscene,” adds General Manager Wesley O’Regan.
Popscene’s doors are opening just in time for those Christmas parties but it’s also perfect for staff celebrations, hens, stags and big birthdays (as well as a cheeky boogie on an average Saturday night).
