Cork yoga instructors are hosting live classes online to soothe your Covid-19 anxiety

Feeling tense?
Most of us are coping with a touch of anxiety at the moment as we wait out the containment phase of the response to the global coronavirus pandemic.
If you’ve never needed your weekly yoga hit more than you do now, there’s some good news on that front. A number of Cork yoga instructors are holding live classes online, so you can take part from home.
Roll out your mat, light some incense and tune in to one of these soothing practices:
Yoga With Emer
If you’re in need of human contact during the coming weeks, Yoga With Emer is hosting interactive online classes where everyone can see and hear each other. “It’s just like joining a regular group class, except social distance friendly!” says Emer Harrington.
“Whether you’re dying to get moving, need to ground and connect to your breath, or just want to lie on your mat for an hour to have some space and a break from the world – you are so welcome to join.” she added.
Classes are free and you can find them here.
Chair Yoga with Flow With Me
Sara of Flow With Me Yoga is leading 30 minutes of live chair yoga on Facebook at regular intervals. All you need to give it a go is a chair (preferably with no arms and no wheels).
“Chair yoga can be practised by everybody, no matter what age or flexibility level.” says Sara, who also encourages getting the kids involved. Here’s the link.
Monday Meditation with Essential Wellness
This Ballincollig yoga studio has moved their weekly Monday Meditation session online while everyone is stuck at home. Tune in to Facebook Live for a broadcast hosted by Claire Dunniece of Yoga With Claire every Monday morning at 7.30am here.
If you miss the early class it’s fine – the video remains on the page so you can get your fix any time.
Kundalini at home
Yoga teacher Amy Russell has launched a Live Online Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Class via Zoom, starting on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 at 6pm.
“If you attend my Collective Cork class on a Thursday and you’ve paid for the block you can log on for free, on either the Wednesday or the Thursday,” said Amy. You can download the Zoom App onto your phone or laptop.
Evening Meditation
Sharon Murphy Wellness will be going live too with a 7pm, 30-minute evening meditation session available to everyone here. Just the thing to wind down after a stressful day.
