Have you seen any of these around Cork?
Cork street artist Kevin O’Brien has updated his website to include several of his most recent works of art – namely some slick electrical box murals from around Cork.
O’Brien has received several commissions to brighten up Cork with his artwork, and these are some of our favourites, as described by O’Brien himself.
“Tribute to Terence and Muriel MacSwiney. This is located on Douglas Road near to where they both used to live on Eldred Terrace. Commissioned by Cllr. Kieran McCarthy.”
As part of the Creative Bandon Scéal Art Trail, O’Brien drew on Irish myth and folklore for the below pieces, all of which are fairly class.
O’Brien wrote on his website: “My first contribution to the People’s Republic of Cork ‘welcome’ series. This features Cork’s world champion rower Sanita Puspure and a message for our Latvian friends = Laipni lūdzam Korkā!”
Other art includes these charming tributes to Ireland’s frontline healthcare workers, painted outside Cork University Hospital and St. Finbarr’s Hospital.
You can check out Kevin’s expanded portfolio here, and also contact him for commissions. Hard to think of an electrical box that couldn’t be improved with his talent.
