Brand new Cork Christmas market to open today

We need something to lift our spirits.
Two weeks ago we announced that Cork would be getting a brand new Christmas market in Mardyke. While the festive pop-up had originally been expected to be unveiled on Sunday, November 20th, it seems like we’re getting into the spirit a few days early.
Organisers of the market shared posts on social media yesterday announcing that there was just one day to go until the grand opening which, by our calculations, means that it will open today.
In amongst the fairy lights, decorations and kiosks selling delicious food and drink, there is also the classic Santa’s grotto experience, which can be booked online now.
A teaser video has given us the clearest look yet at what we can expect from the new Christmas village.
The experience offers: “Families will be guided through a magical walkway, stopping by Santas Vintage Sleigh Mobile for a selfie and then moving on to Santa’s cabin for a private visit with Santa.
“As always, Santa will know something special about each child and give them an age-appropriate gift. You will receive a printed photograph so you can keep the magical memories for years to come! Make sure to bring those Santa letters as there will be a North Pole Post Box at Santa’s cabin!” Adult tickets start at €8, and cost €13 for children over 13 months, and it’s worth noting that slots are already sold out today and tomorrow.
The Mardyke Christmas Market will run until 23rd of December.
