Book your seat on the ferry for a free Culture Night trip out to Spike Island

It’s a huge night in the annual calendar.
Culture Night or Oíche Chultúir is an annual all-island public event and a chance for everyone across the country to get out and about to experience and appreciate all that our culture has to offer.
Every year, communities, artists, dancers, theatre groups, and cultural centres come together to put on events, showcases, exhibitions, workshops and performances for one night only for the public for a 100% free and fun night out. And this year is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.
To celebrate Culture Night 2022, Spike Island, in partnership with the Arts Council of Ireland and Cork County Council, is inviting ‘Runners, Rollers and Strollers’ to hop, skip and walk aboard the boat to the former fortress for the evening.
What’s involved?
Participants will leave Cobh Pier at 6.30pm on Friday, September 23rd, and sail to Spike Island. Upon arrival, runners will take off on the 1.4km ring around Spike called the “Glacis Walk” while the rollers and strollers hold the fort before the music starts.
The boat will return back to Cobh at around 8.30pm where the Polska Eire market will be in full swing on the Promenade with music in the streets and pubs.
“If you are interested in being part of this FREE event please register interest by sending DM or tag someone you know to share this fun opportunity in one of our county’s wonderful locations. Numbers are limited by boat capacity so don’t delay,” said Culture Night Cork County on Instagram.
