An Irish designer is selling wedding-themed face masks for quarantined couples

Spending your big day working from home?
If Covid-19 has put the kibosh on your wedding celebration, now there’s a fun way to add some pizzazz to your daily trip to the supermarket.
An Irish designer has created an adorable pair of bride and groom face masks for quarantining couples – just the accessory for a selfie to mark the special date (before you arrange a new post-lockdown bash).
Eamonn Mc Gill is famous for his show-stopping dresses, which have graced the red carpet at the Oscars and the Golden Globes, but with all glam events on hold for now, Mr Mc Gill has turned his attentions to making people smile.

Sold as a pack with one bride and one groom design in each, the fabulously formal masks are made up of two layers of 97% cotton jersey fabric and one layer of scuba fabric – and they’ve been a huge hit, with Eamonn now taking re-orders for May 27th, 2020.
At €60 for the pair (available online here), Eamonn Mc Gill’s hand-stitched creations a touch pricier than your average face mask, but a percentage of the proceeds from each set sold will be donated to the Simon Community. EMG also has a range of less expensive stylish options from €22.95 here.
Of course, there is no guidance on whether we should all be wearing masks in public just yet but with The National Public Health Emergency Team due to discuss the matter today, that could change in the coming weeks.
