Aldi announce eco-friendly Clonakilty store opening (with local coffee for early birds)

The doors open at 9am on the day.
And Aldi Ireland is promising plenty of delicious local Velo coffee and a range of Specialbuys for the first visitors to the new eco-friendly Clonakilty store on Thursday, August 25th, 2022.
The brand’s 25th Cork outlet, Aldi Clonakilty is located in a purpose-built store on Inchydoney Road and represents an investment of €7.6m in the local area and a whopping €226 million in Co. Cork since opening Aldi’s first Irish store here in Ballincollig in 1999.
With 20 permanent positions created in Clonakilty on opening, the 1,315 sqm shop has been constructed in Aldi’s award-winning Project Fresh design and features 109 car parking spaces.
Powered by 100% green electricity, it will also include two free-to-use electric vehicle charging points outside.
As part of the brand’s commitment to planting one million native Irish woodland trees by 2025 in partnership with Green Belt, almost 82,000 trees have already been planted in Dromnagopple, Coolroe East and Gubeen.
