Absinthe is back in fashion and you can sample it at this cool distillery
Fans of the green fairy, you’re in luck.
Let’s face it, absinthe has long been shrouded in myths and misconceptions. But fear not, because Rebel City Distillery, nestled in the historic Old Ford electrical transformer building on Centre Park Road, is on a mission to debunk the age-old myths that have clung to absinthe for over a century.
The crew there will be running their famed absinthe experience, Chase the Fairy, on January 27th at 5.30pm. And the dress code is Gatsby BTW.
The adventure begins with a welcome cocktail in their chic boutique bar. From there, guests will be whisked into the Craft Distillery, where the magic of distillation unfolds.
Prepare to be enchanted as Rebel City Distillery weaves storytelling and immersive experiences to unveil the decadent history of absinthe. You’ll gain insights into the distillation process, all while exploring the fascinating tales that made absinthe notorious for inspiring creativity and triggering hallucinations — hence the term ‘Chase the Fairy‘.
Its ban in many countries around the world was only lifted in the last 20 years.
Back at the bar, there will be a demo of the traditional absinthe tasting method, followed by two tantalisingly delicious cocktails.
