There will be yummy samples included.
The only smokehouse in Ireland where salmon is hung for smoking is ready to re-open its doors for immersive tours in March.
The legendary Hedderman’s Belvelly Smoke House near Cobh has been perfecting the art of smoking — salmon, mackerel, mussels, and butter — for over 40 years, supplying markets in Cork, gracing European restaurants, and satisfying the taste buds of corporate and private customers around the globe.

Frank Hedderman and his wife Caroline, who run the smokehouse, are throwing open their doors in March, inviting guests in to see the inner workings of the business and the secret behind their mouth-watering creations.
This is a chance to witness first-hand the magic that makes their smoked fish truly authentic… and most importantly, there will be samples throughout the 30-minute tour.
Afterwards there is a chance to enjoy a platter of smoked goodness in their cosy Tasting Room or unwind in their secluded walled garden. For those craving a picnic with a view, take some packed delights to the pier head in Cobh or the Arboretum at Fota House.
Keep an eye on their social media for more details in the coming weeks. In the meantime, their Tasting Room is currently open as a shop, Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
