A teeny, tiny ‘free library’ has appeared on a beach in Youghal

Finished with your summer beach read?
If you’re sloping off the sand in Youghal, there’s now a special spot where you can leave your book for someone else to enjoy and grab a new title while you’re at it.
Book blogger Mairéad Hearne took to Twitter to share her delight in having discovered a tiny pop-up library in the coastal town.

The little green cupboard has been hand decorated by a thoughtful local, complete with ‘Free Library’ sign. Inside there are two shelves where visitors can leave books and browse those already deposited.
It’s a miniature take on Clonakilty’s pop-up library at the parklet on Kent Street, which opened in July.

The adorable facility is housed in a vintage bosca telefón that has been fitted with shelves inside. Visitors are invited to browse the selection of donated books and choose one to take away – all you have to do is replace it with a book someone else might enjoy.
