A new Cork Recovery Room offers sauna, compression boots and zero-gravity chairs

Cork is gone wild for wellness.
Now the team behind a new business is taking a punt on the trend, offering a tailored selection of drop-in therapies aimed at aiding recovery.
Based in the Commercial Park on Ballincollig’s Link Road, The Recovery Room is Cork’s newest indoor, private space dedicated to physical recovery and relaxation.
With no shared sessions, the space provides customers with a unique opportunity to completely switch off from the outside world for a little, whether your goal is physical recovery or mental clarity and space, or a little bit of both.

You can spend time in the Infrared Sauna (ideal for people who find the intense heat of traditional saunas uncomfortable or difficult to tolerate – infrared saunas offer a gentler heat experience) or try their top of the range Normatec Compression Boots.
“Our boots reduce muscle soreness by increasing blood flow and flushing out metabolic waste like lactic acid. They speed up recovery time after intense training, races or competitions. They may also help reduce delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).” they explain.
“They are very effective for individuals with edema, lymphedema or post-injury inflammation and can be very beneficial to individuals with poor circulation, varicose veins or chronic venous insufficiency.”
The Recovery Room also has zero-gravity recliners where you can relax between sauna and compression boots sessions as well as shower facilities onsite and free parking.
To book a 30-minute session (€15) or a one-hour session (€25) pop them a DM on Instagram.
