A new ‘botanical imaginarium’ and flower shop just opened in Farran

By Katie Mythen-Lynch December 14, 2020December 14, 2020

This is a dream come true for decor fans.

One of Cork’s best-known wedding florists has finally taken the plunge into retail, opening a destination shop packed with all manner of botanical treats… and right in time for Christmas.

Flowersmith Jill O’Keeffe of Wild Floral Couture opens the doors of The Wilderness, her first store this week in Farran, with a selection of beautiful handmade home decor, curios and gifts to choose from.

“It’s inspired by a mix of Wunderkammer (that’s cabinets of curiosities) and Steampunk,” Jill told Yay Cork.

“Bursting with artistic botanicals, it aims to be more of an ‘Imaginarium’ than ‘just’ a flower shop… it does all the things of a normal florist, just peppered with a bit more imagination.”

Conveniently situated just off the N22, Jill and her team can also deliver flowers and gifts throughout Cork City and suburbs (you can buy online here).

The Wild Christmas Emporium will be open for physical visits from 9.30am to 5pm every day until December 23rd.

And there’s more good news; this spring, the Wild Emporium will be opening for coffee in conjunction with Filter cafe and espresso bar.

As if we needed another reason to visit.

In the meantime, you’ll find them in Farran (P31P210 -masks are essential) and over on Instagram/jillwildflower.
