A kind-hearted Cork 7-year-old is hosting a pop-up to raise funds for earthquake victims

Small gestures can make a big impact.
As the crisis deepens in Turkey and Syria following last week’s devastating earthquake, both governments are calling for international aid to help with search and rescue missions and humanitarian relief for more than 5.2 million people affected.
Those calls didn’t fall on deaf ears in a little seaside village in West Cork, where young fashionista Tess has decided to take matters into her own hands and organise a pop-up in her local GAA hall to raise funds for the victims of the disaster.
Like many children her age, Tess has a wardrobe of clothes that simply don’t fit her anymore, so she came up with an ambitious idea to put them to good use for a great cause.
“This Saturday at [St James’s GAA] my little girl Tess is hosting a little pop-up shop with lots of beautiful preloved clothes from her wardrobe,” said Tess’s mother Thérèse on Instagram.
“The money raised will be donated to Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital and the Turkey -Syria earthquake appeal.”
“We’ll have some coffee and cake too,” she added.

The inspiring young activist will be manning the racks on Saturday, February 18th from 2pm-4pm in the St James’ GAA Hall in Ardfield, Clonakilty. Children’s clothes from ages 0-6 will be available to purchase on the day.
Good luck Tess!
