Cork is about to have a new staycation spot for all those romantic evenings, milestone celebrations and (whisper it…) special proposals.

The Montenotte Hotel is launching a new Woodland Suite Experience in summer 2024 with two brand new accommodation styles, both set away from the main hotel and overlooking the river.

Designed by Dublin-based design firm Kinston Lafferty, the hotel says its Woodland Suite Experience “will epitomise a sense of escape” for guests of The Montenotte:

“Nestled within the beauty of the Irish landscape high above Cork’s port, these exclusive cocoons will enhance a sense of exploration and experience, evoking harmony, and calm.”

The new suites will be the icing on the cake for the popular hotel, which is already home to The Residences private luxury apartments, the Cameo Cinema, The Glasshouse, and The Panorama Restaurant and Terrace.

A new brand identity inspired by the tagline, “Run Wild…. At The Montenotte”, referring to the hotel’s many nature-oriented experiences, was launched this week featuring illustrations by Irish digital artist Peter Donnelly.

“With this brand evolution, we hope to visually bring to life the contemporary, cosmopolitan nature of our design ethos, the understated luxury approach of our service, and the vibrancy, fun and energy of a city escape that is then intricately juxtaposed with a multisensory resort experience developed on an estate with jaw-dropping river views and the serenity of beautifully curated private gardens.” said the hotel’s GM Frits Potgieter.
