He’ll be reaching new heights for an important cause.
Cork DJ and sound technician Billy McGaley is preparing to perform Ireland’s highest DJ set atop Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain, in an effort to raise funds for the Irish Red Cross and their work in Ukraine.
The event, which will take place on April 15th, 2022 will begin with a challenging 1,038.6m climb. McGaley, aka BMG Sound, will carry all the equipment necessary to perform a live set at the summit, which will also be enjoyed by his supporters watching at home.
“The planned date is April 15th (weather permitting),” McGaley said.

“Once I reach the top, I will perform a DJ set which I hope to live stream across my social media. The event will also be recorded and uploaded online after.”
The DJ has already raised more than €1,000 of his €10,000 target.
There will also be events held at venues in Cork and Kerry to raise awareness before the climb, as well as a follow up set in a venue in Killarney.
