Join a group of brave Ukrainian swimmers for a spring dip at this Cork beach

It’s a surefire way to blow away the winter cobwebs.
A brave group of Ukrainian swimmers will be diving into the icy sea at Dunworley Beach on Sunday, February 1st as part of a celebration of all things spring on the St Brigid’s Day bank holiday weekend.
The organisers of the Ukrainian Swim invite members of the public to grab a pair of togs and a towel and join their hardy team in a spring dip at 2pm. It’s free to go along and everyone’s welcome to join in.
The swim is part of the Bandon Brigid’s Festival, which is also organising a number of other interesting spring events this year.
What else is on?
An Outdoor Green Sketching event with artist Anne Harrington Rees is encouraging participants to put down their phones and
capture the first buds of spring on Saturday, February 1st. All levels of experience are welcome (€25pp) and the group will meet at the back of Town Hall at 11am. Email info@anneharringtonreesdesigns.ie to book your spot.
Later that day you can enjoy a coffee cupping workshop with coffee master Tony Speight at West Cork Coffee, where participants will be sampling the various aromas of this prize winning speciality roastery from 4pm to 5pm. Booking is essential on 086 318 3236.
On Sunday, February 2nd you can catch The Last Witch, Brigid Cleary with Eve O’Mahony (winner of Best Actress at Galway Fringe).
Eve performs her one woman play about Brigid Cleary at Bandon Town Hall at 3pm and tickets are €15, available online at Powertik or at Perfect Cup, Bandon and The Wine Buff, Kinsale.
