A bold new photo exhibition explores LGBT+ life in Ireland

The Lavit Gallery has a new home and its latest exhibition offers a brilliant opportunity to check out the new digs.
UNCOVER by Dubin-based artist Brian Teeling will feature a series of portraits of subjects drawn from a diverse cross-section of Irish LGBT+ life.
The exhibition opens at the new gallery on Wandesford Quay on Thursday, August 2nd.
Teeling, who worked with Sean Kissane to curate the collection, found his subjects in all walks of Irish society. The images feature politicians, musicians, artists, activists and unsung heroes.
Figures include Senator Fintan Warfield; theatre director, Garry Hynes; drag artist Veda Beaux Reeves; and broadcaster and designer, Brendan Courtney.
Funds raised through the sale of the prints will go to Gay Switchboard Ireland. , which was founded in 1974 and is one of the oldest LGBT+ community service in the Republic of Ireland.
UNCOVER will open on Thursday, August 2nd and will continue until Saturday, August 11th at the Lavit Gallery, Wandesford Quay, Clarke’s Bridge, Cork.
