Goodbye Sunday Scaries: This new Yoga class is the best way to ease into the week

Does Sunday give you a dose of the Glenroes?
A new Sunday evening yoga and meditation offering is aiming to take the edge off one of the most familiar weekly anxieties: the “Sunday scaries.”
A four-week series of classes from Daire Dillon of Moveable Feast Yoga is launching this Sunday at 6pm, designed specifically as a gentle reset between the weekend and the working week. Rather than pushing intensity or fitness goals, the sessions are built around slowing down—offering participants space to decompress before Monday arrives.
The class format blends Hatha yoga, breathwork, and guided meditation. Unlike faster-paced flow styles, Hatha allows time to settle into each posture and explore alignment and sensation without rushing. The emphasis, organisers say, is less on “working out” and more on “working in”—creating a quieter mental space and easing the transition out of weekend mode.

Alongside movement, each session includes simple breathing and meditation techniques broken down in an accessible way, with the intention that participants can take them beyond the studio and use them during stressful moments in everyday life.
The classes will be held at Kove Studios, a locally owned studio located in the East Village area of Douglas. Sunday parking in the surrounding area is free, removing one more potential stressor from the evening routine.
To keep things accessible, yoga mats are provided, with attendees simply encouraged to bring a blanket and cushion for added comfort during meditation.
The series begins on Sunday, May 24th, and continues weekly for four weeks, with additional sessions on May 31st, June 7th, and June 14th. Participants can book the full series at a reduced rate or attend individual sessions for €15.
