Cork florists sell out of Valentine’s roses as locals prove Leeside is for lovers

By Katie Mythen-Lynch February 14, 2023February 13, 2023

Lads, the romance.

Cork’s loved-up ladies and gents have been buying up Valentine’s blooms by the bouquet this year, with a number of local florists experiencing epic demand.

By the close of business yesterday evening, Winthrop Arcade florists The Best of Buds declared they were “almost sold out” of their stunning red rose stuffed hat boxes and luxurious arrangements.

Over on Douglas Street, Cork Flower Studio also experienced a sell-out, while Kinsale’s Howe Hill Flowers harvested extra hellebore flowers and opened up further order slots due to the demand.

At Shandon Flowers, the team opened their studio on Sunday to handle all the extra business, while The Flowersmith Studio in Glanmire stopped taking orders for their stunning blooms, delivered in bundles with mouthwatering cupcakes from Buns and Roses, last week.
