Met Éireann predicts a muggy week ahead for Cork with heavy downpours on the daily

It’s going to be fierce muggy.
Met Éireann is predicting a wet and warm week ahead in Cork, with temperatures regularly hitting around 19C.
If you had notions of lighting the barbecue however you can probably forget about it, we’re also going to be lashed by regular downpours at various points daily, right up until Friday.
Any mist and fog will clear this morning and sunny spells will develop at first, but isolated showers will mar the afternoon. It will be a humid day with top temperatures of 16 to 19 Celsius in moderate to fresh southerly winds.
“Outbreaks of rain will clear northwards on Tuesday morning but another spell of rain will quickly follow from the south.” said a forecaster.
“The rain will become widespread and heavy through the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds, easing light to moderate in the afternoon.”
Wednesday will be okay early on, with a largely dry start, sunny spells, and just a few showers. However, the rain will spread northwards across the country through the afternoon and evening with some heavy downpours possible, with highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees.
The dance of sunny spells and scattered showers will continue on Thursday, with highest temperatures of up to 20C.
Forecasters are expecting further spells of rain and showers on Friday and Saturday so guess we’ll just have to get used to the frizzy hair and sleepless nights.
