The Carry Out across the street from Lennox’s chipper has just set up a boozy Slushie machine on the counter… and they’re going down a treat with customers.

The neon pink drink (€5) is a blend of sugary crushed ice and strawberry daiquiri, a potent rum cocktail. You wouldn’t drink them all night but in the absence of any kind of pub scene, dropping in for one after work is a fun way to unwind after a long day at the home office.

If you close your eyes and sip it in the sun you could almost pretend you were on holidays for 40 seconds.
