23 dog-friendly Cork restaurants where you can dine with your canine pal

We’re dog-mad in Cork.
In fact, the last two years have seen some of the biggest changes yet in how local businesses roll out the red carpet for our canine companions.
Now an Irish dog-friendly directory has compiled a handy list of 23 Cork restaurants where customers can be assured their dog is welcome to join them for a meal.
Featured venues in the Paws Friendly round-up include The Barn, where customers with doggos can enjoy the dog-friendly seating in their fully enclosed, covered terrace area with underfloor heating, open all year round.
“The glass walls fold back and the roof can be fully retracted in summer, creating a spacious and comfortable dining experience for you and your furry friend,” they report.
In Carrigrohane, The Angler’s welcomes dogs of all sizes in their outdoor dining area, with special doggie chairs to ensure they have a comfy stay.

If it’s pizza and a pint you’re craving after a long dog walk, Fionbarra’s on Douglas Street has the water bowls filled for their furry guests.
Down in Kinsale, Hamlets dog-friendly Street Food and Gastro Garden made the list for its delicious street food, cocktails, wines, and craft beers, while in Clonakilty, Casey’s Bar and Restaurant boasts water bowls, puppuccinos, and doggie treats too.
Paws Friendly was started by Amanda and her dog Poppy, who “hated being dragged around the city looking for somewhere that I can sit on my mom’s lap.”
“The site is designed so that dog owners can easily discover new places near them, as well as add their favorite dog-friendly places to the site,” says Amanda.
