It’s hard to see any of the other Cork basketball clubs topping this.
Emily Ratajkowski, one of the world’s most famous models, has agreed to sponsor Bantry Basketball Club’s under 15/16 boys’ team for the upcoming season, through her clothing line Inamorata.
The club confirmed the deal in a tweet yesterday, which read: “Thanks to Emily Ratajkowski @emrata for her new sponsorship of our boys under 15/16 team through her clothing brand Inamorata.”
Ratajkowski has a personal connection to Bantry, having spent her summers there as a child. Back in 2018, she tweeted congratulations when Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí won the All-Ireland, and when she visits Cork she uses captions like “Home.”
Speaking to RTÉ, Bantry coach Pat Curran said that he was friends with Ratajkowski’s parents, and that her father John used to play for the team when the family would vacation in Ireland. He said that the sponsorship was arranged through Ratajkowski’s parents, and that it was agreed to just five minutes after he had sent them a text.

Curran suggested that Ratajkowski will come to see the team play sooner or later, and spoke about the sponsorship deal from a perspective of boosting morale, saying: “It is a high-profile sponsor for such a small team. We haven’t had any basketball for 18 months so it is a way of saying we’re still here.”
Looks like the other teams in the league will have to be getting on to Bella Hadid instead.
