If you were thinking about soaking up some of the summer sunshine in town this weekend, here’s another reason to head for the city centre.

The 18th Gino’s Gelato store in Ireland opens on Cork’s Oliver Plunkett Street this Saturday, June 2nd, and to celebrate, the team will be giving away FREE gelato to all customers between 11am-1pm on the day.

Nice.

Whether your favourite is the pistachio, Kinda Gino Bueno or Gino’s Chocolate Oreo Crêpe gelato, you can enjoy your scoop free of charge.

It’s good news for jobs too; the new Oliver Plunkett St. store will employ 16 staff, including three master gelato makers who make the gelato fresh in store each day.

The store is the second Cork outlet to open in as many months – the Paul Street shop employs 23 staff and seats 25 people and there’s another Cork store in the pipeline too, set to open in the coming months.
